NOURISH YOUR BODY

Every time you eat or drink, or sleep, is an opportunity to love yourself a little bit more! Even, every time you move your body, make it an act of loving yourself. Yes, that’s what I am saying…. It’s the best way to love yourself…. Do things that your body loves, and whatever loves your body back. That is a simple principle of life.

Good evening, it is May 3rd, 2022. I am Dr. Aneeta Madhok, Coaching Psychologist and Integrative Nutrition Health Coach.

I am an Integrative Nutrition Health coach qualified from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in the US. By profession, I am a Coaching Psychologist and I went through a self-healing health transformation a few years ago. I coach people to lead healthy and vibrant lives, with a special focus on diabetes and obesity. Because I am a psychologist, for Health Coaching I focus on the mind-body, Heart and Soul of my clients. Each client is on his or her own journey and the coaching helps achieve many milestones along the say.

Everybody knows it, don’t we? Yet we forget. Especially when there is food in front of us, do we ever stop to ask the question, “Does this food love me back as much as I love it?”

There are two kinds of food… first is the food that loves me back. This is food that heals, nourishes, mends, repairs, and makes you glow with active energy. Second is the food that hates you back… you may love it all you want, but it makes you sicker, breaks you down, gives you stress and inflammation, makes you fat, gives you disease.

Eight tips from me for loving yourself back…

  1. Drink more water (stay hydrated)

If you start NOW, drinking at least 10 glasses (or more) of water a day you will notice a difference in your health within a week. Guaranteed. You can’t imagine how important it is to stay hydrated continuously. Did you know that fat cells do not contain much water as muscle cells? So, if you are lean, you will have over 60% of your body weight in water, and if you are obese, it can be as low as 55% or even lower? Amazing fun fact, isn’t it?

Never leave home without a bottle of water in your bag. Keep a glass and jug handy in office and next to your bed at home so you don’t have to trudge to the water cooler or the kitchen to get yourself a glass. According to one research, 42% of adults drink less than 4 glasses of water a day… and make sure you are not one of them…

Water is the best drink in the whole world and enjoy every sip.

  1. Sleep well (refresh and revitalise)

We have many levels of sleep. There is deep sleep, light sleep, REM sleep when we have rapid eye movements indicative of brain activity like dreams.

The biggest function of sleep is that it restores… when you sleep, your body repairs itself and heals, your mind resolves unfinished business you had during the day, emotions tend to get more grounded and real when you have good sleep. If you have disturbed sleep, get in touch with me right now to help you find some tips on how to get a good nights rest.

  1. Upgrade your nutrition (food is medicine)

This is my favourite topic! I was always a foodie, my whole family were foodies, and how I am a health foodie! Especially when it comes to knowing what food loves me back! There is a whole dissertation inside me when it comes to how to upgrade your nutrition and someday you can read in my book, which I am writing nowadays.

  1. Eat more veggies (50% of your food)

50% of your food intake should be vegetables, fruits, and salads. Rest can be grains or protein sources. Simple tip. Fill your refrigerator with all the veggies you love and know they all love you back.

  1. Exercise a bit more (move)

Stagnation leads to inflammation. Inflammation underlies so many diseases like diabetes, cardio-vascular disease, PCOS, Alzheimer’s, and more. Get out there and move

  1. Chew your food

Digestion begins in your mouth, and if you chew well, your stomach does not have to deal with impossible large chunks of food which it does not have the capacity to deal with. The saliva in the mouth is an important input for the stomach enzymes. Your digestion is incomplete if you do not chew your food well.

  1. Eat slow

Savour each morsel of food in your mouth. Food is pleasurable. Add some spices, make some chutneys, garnish with herbs, combine your dishes according to your tastebuds. If you enjoy your food, you intake all the positive emotions you are experiencing.

  1. GET A HEALTH COACH WHO BELIEVES IN YOU: NOW!!!
