Good evening, it is May 16th, 2022 and 5:30 pm here in India. I am Dr. Aneeta Madhok, Coaching Psychologist and Integrative Nutrition Health Coach.
This is the fourth circle I am hosting on my Mentza channel Integrative Health. I am an Integrative Nutrition Health coach qualified from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in the US. By profession, I am a Coaching Psychologist and I went through a self-healing health transformation a few years ago. I coach people to lead healthy and vibrant lives, with a special focus on diabetes and obesity. Because I am a psychologist, for Health Coaching I focus on the mind-body, Heart and Soul of my clients. Each client is on his or her own journey and the coaching helps achieve many milestones along the way.
The last three circles, we focused on how we Nourish our Mind, and our Body, and our Heart. Today is the last in the four-part series and we discuss how we nourish our Soul.
You have travelled many a long journey and gathered many experiences, good and bad. With each journey, a purpose has been served. Walking the path of your purpose mindfully is the connection of your life with your soul. Everything you experienced until now left an imprint on your mind-body, heart & soul. Everything you experienced until now, either nourished you or depleted you. The soul is vibration and energy and a well-nourished soul feeds the mind, heart and body too.
By being born on the planet, your soul has accepted a life and a purpose and that is what the search for meaning will lead us to. Living in alignment with mind-body, heart and soul is what brings good health and well-being. In our daily lives, we often think of nourishment as something that brings good health to the body. We never stop to think of nourishing our souls.
There are many spiritually evolved folks here who are deep meditators and much into the chakra healing practice. There are also lots of folks who are in search of soul healing or pranic healing, through EFT or Reiki or such practices. In my Life Coaching through Tarot Cards, many seekers come for answers to questions sometimes about their soul purpose, sometimes about past life imprints on the soul which might be showing up in this life, sometimes about karmic confrontations they are going through. According to me, the world is a stage for each one of our souls to confront the karma their soul needs to do to evolve to the next level. When we change to self-love, gratitude, forgiveness, our soul moves on to the next level of freedom.
Here are a few tips from my side on living a life that nourishes the soul…
- Take a deep breath (5 times a day)
The ones who do meditation daily, life with mindfulness. Most people are busy with their lives and between work, home, family, parents, elders, bosses, always on the go. When we are continuously in a state of doing, rushing, achieving, talking, we get into a red zone of chronic stress. It reaches a point when we don’t even know we are chronically stressed out. Most phones, iPhone and Samsung, I know, have a ‘Breathe” app installed. It goes… breathe in…. hold….and breathe out. Set a reminder and do this five times a day. The science behind it is huge, but in short, it helps trigger your parasympathetic nervous system response mechanism. Helps you stay focused, grounded, and able to take on the challenges of the day.
- Forgive and forget (daily). Time cannot be grasped. Life is too short. A daily prayer of those you need to forgive helps free them from a negative connection to you and more than anything else, frees you to move on.
- Say ‘Thank You!” (every person). Just try this for a day and see what happens? As an experiment, just say Thank You to everybody you meet. Find reason to thank them, no matter how innocuous it may be. Look at the resulting feelings of positivity, wellbeing, and wholesomeness it brings to you.
- Count your blessings (every night). Before sleeping, make a list of all things you have to be grateful for including the day you had. No matter how challenging the day has been, there is always something to be grateful for.
- Unplug technology (one hour a day). Do I need to say this? Don’t you crave for some time, when you put your phones down and switch off the computer and the television, and just did something else? I know everybody wants to do this in their heart, but we often don’t give ourselves the priority and that voice in the head goes unanswered.
- Send positive vibes (to all in need). Someone is sick, someone is challenged, someone is happy, someone is successful, someone is taking care of someone who is sick…. Send positive vibes. Just the thought of sending positive vibes is what it takes.
- Live a life of purpose (always).
Your soul’s purpose is why you’re here on this earth at this time. What you’re looking for or seeking is probably connected to your soul’s purpose. It is an aspect of your life that drives you and moves you forward. When you know your soul’s purpose, you’re content with your life. There is a lot of self-help these days. Best seller “Know your Ikigai” tells us about four questions that reveal meaningfulness in life. What are you good at doing? What do you enjoy doing the most? What is it that the world needs? And what is it that you get paid or rewarded for. When you are in alignment with your soul purpose, the universe conspires with you and you manifest abundance.
- GET A HEALTH COACH WHO BELIEVES IN YOU: NOW!!!
A health coach is not only one who understands you, but one who holds you in infinite grace and compassion. A health coach is a person who asks you high-mileage questions that push you to explore aspects of your self and assumptions you make, and verified stances you take, and question everything that you do. A Health coach will enable you connect with your ikigai and point you in the direction of leading a life aligned to your purpose.
